Mi File Explorer on Playstore

Xiaomi has now launched their file explorer app onto the Google Play Store. One of the biggest reason like some other OEMs who are releasing their apps onto the Play Store is for faster updates, without waiting for long of firmware upgrades. But it is not their first release of any app. Earlier they had also launched their Mi Calculator, now we have Mi File Explorer. Unlike others, Xiaomi has put a different approach to it. : they are allowing users of other smartphones too to use and enjoy them. The app is still marked as "Unreleased" so it's still in beta, but from my tests it seems to work quite well.
Mi File Explorer has got some old school yet nessasary features. The search function and all the expected actions like renaming, moving, copying, deleting, sharing, and so on are present . Others like a regular directory browser, but also categorization according to the type of file that allows one to view all their stored videos pictures or APKs or documents and any other type on one page are there.
But there are some cool features which can turn out to be very useful at some point. The Mi Explorer has a built-in cleaner in order to get rid of your cache files and saving some of your storage. There is also a zip/rar archive support for compressing or decompressing them which can surely come handy.. It also has got a few for wirelessly sharing options of files like Mi Drop for sharing to devices near to you , and an FTP server that lets you browse your device's storage from a nearby computer.
It is made to be compatible with some devices of samsung as well as some nexus ones too while some device may not support them. However APK file can be used to download it on non compatible devices.
The Mi explorer is currently on beta version and under test as a result it is termed as
"Unreleased" on Play store as of now. But soon it will go live.
